My website went from the struggles a mom, divorcee, remarried, controversial issues, baking, career, & pictures to BUSINESS. BUSINESS! How did this happen? I can't even begin to explore where the time has gone the last year.
At one time I loved my part-time job. Then life happens & things you were happy with are things you're no longer happy with. It's on ourselves to change it. That's what I'm doing. I want to have a Saturday or two or even THREE Saturdays a year off. I want a regular vacation. If I'm sick, I want to be sick. The thought of never achieving a full-time/regular career position at the post office has been driving me crazy. I have NO benefits. I go in as the 'call-in' person. If someone is sick, they call in, take the day off.. If I'm sick, I go in. If I want a weekend off, 'good luck with that'. I could go on & on. But I won't. Bottom-line, I'm fed up with a job I used to LOVE & no end in sight, nothing to work towards, no advancement.
So I guess we'll buy a $20,000 laser. Why not throw in a near $10,000 CNC router machine while we're it. That's how determined I am, WE ARE, to make this our full-time JOB. No more answering to anyone else, but ourselves & OUR customers. To the average business/corporation owner that's probably chump change. To us, that's the most money we've ever invested in besides our home.
Yup, we're adding laser engraved products. CNC routered products. We are determined to succeed. I'm determined to be able to go camping a FULL WEEKEND with my family. We've come so far already in the first year of our venture & we plan to keep going, keep improving, keep investing until we get right where we aimed to be.. And once we're there, we'll aim higher & better :)
I plan to pick up my blogging again. It'll be a little different than it was in the beginning. But it's still me, crazy, wild, annoying, sarcastic, sassy, loud & proud, odd-humored, not liked by all, but enough, Valine.
With much focus on my Etsy shop & facebook page when it comes to my business, I lost much focus on not only my blog, but my website in general. Because those are just more economical for business purposes. However, one day, I'd like to have more focus on my personal website rather than the external sites for business. I have posted my limit of 10 items (I must upgrade my site for significant chunk of money to allow me more options). These 10 items will be how I test out the business end of my site. The items I have listed are items that really don't require much personalization. Items people desire to be customized can be sought out on my YooperMom906.Etsy.com page.
I'm a mom of two. A wife. I'm a yooper (live in the U.P. of MI) A postal worker. I'm real. I'm me. This is my start.
